sight words
Our goal is for students to be able to sound out words and recognize common spelling patterns in words to help decode them. We will be working on a small percentage of words we call Sight Words. These words are irregular and do not follow common reading patterns. Therefore, your child should identify the word by sight. Children identify these words by memorizing the shape or a unique feature in the whole word.
